Update 39 Weeks (tomorrow)

Sorry we haven't updated in the last couple of days. We have been without internet.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and I am dilated to 3cm. She did a quick ultrasound to make sure he is head down and he is. She also said she believes he is in the 7lb range but that is a complete guess.

I am having contractions but not in regular intervals. Titus is currently painting our living room so even though I want Kason to come soon, I want him to wait until that is done before making his debut. At this point, we are just playing the waiting game.

Dr. Appt/Mt Comfort Baby Shower

We had a dr. appointment today. We are dialated to 2cm now and Kason's heartrate was at 133/minute. She said everything looks good and we will go back next week.

We also had a baby shower this past weekend. It was an amazing shower. The theme was Bikes, Blues and Babies Too. Way too cute. We received a ton of motorcycle clothes. Mostly Harley Davidson clothes from YaYa and HaHa (Titus' Mom and Dad). Below are some pictures to show what a wonderful shower it was.

Full Term Today!

So I just realized that I still haven't posted about our Dr.'s appointment this week. It was really uneventful. She just checked Kason's heart rate (143/minute) and measured my belly. She didn't check me this time. We have another appointment on Tuesday again.

So yes, as of today, we are considered full term. Anytime Kason would like to make his appearance in the world is fine with us. I have started having some real contractions now but nothing at regular intervals. I feel like there is something else I am supposed to tell everyone but I can't remember what it is. If I don't write it down somewhere, I absolutely will not remember. I tell everyone at work that the baby has eaten my brain and I'm pretty sure it is true.

35 Week Dr. Appt.

We had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything went good. Kason's heartrate was at 162. A little higher than it has been but the doctor was happy with it. I am also 1.5cm dilated. As of this moment we are still looking at around Christmas Eve for our due date. Our next dr. appt. is Tuesday so I will let you know how it goes.

Titus and I are so Thankful for all of you. You have each touched us and helped us in one way or another. We are very grateful for your love and support during this time of change in our lives. Thank you so much.

We hope you all of have very Happy Thanksgiving! We love you!

Dr. Appt/Kason's Room

I had a Dr.'s appointment yesterday and everything went well. Kason's heartbeat was really high at 180 so the dr. hooked me up to the fetal monitor for about 20 minutes. It slowed back down and she said he looked perfect. She said she just caught it at a spike which can easily happen. Kason did not like the monitor however. He went crazy when it was put on my belly. He kicked it like crazy and then he got the hiccups which was pretty funny. Like I said, everything is good though. I start going every week now.

We also almost have Kason's room done. All we like now is getting the curtains hung and cleaning up the items on the floor. It is getting so close. We only have 37 days left until the due date. Below are pictures of his room so far.

We also got our pack n play from YaYa and HaHa (Titus' parents). We love it and it is in our room waiting for Kason. Below is a picture of Titus putting it together.

Week 34, 1 Day

Here is a picture of my belly at week 34. Yes it is huge but that just means little Kason is growing big and strong.

I am still doing good. My feet have started swelling and it is harder to breath but I am still sleeping well and enjoying this time. Kason is about 20" long now and about 5lbs. He will be considered full term in about 4 weeks and our due date is in only 6 weeks. It is coming fast.

The nursery is coming along great. We are almost done with it. Titus has to hang the shelves and there are some things I need to get put away and we will pretty much be done with it. I will post some pictures as soon as it is done. Hopefully it will be done this weekend.

We had a great shower at our new church Flagstone last Sunday. I wasn't expecting one from there because we are so new to it but the ladies there are just amazing. We have made some great friends. We got a lot of things that we will need that we didn't get at the first shower. Things like thermometer, diapers, wipes and diaper rash cream.

Ok, now I have to go and clean this disgusting house. I just threw away most of everything in the refrigerator so I also have to go grocery shopping. Have a great day!

Week 32, Dr. Appointment

We had a dr. appointment today. Everything looked good and Kason's heartbeat was 155/minute. She said everything looks really good and we go back in 2 weeks.

Also, below are some pictures of the baby shower I had at Cushman a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful shower.

Week 30 Dr. Appointment

We had our dr. appt today. Nothing major happened. Kason's heart rate was at 157/minute. I am now at 121 pounds so that makes us at 23 pounds so far. I also got the flu shot today. Nothing big happened but the doc said everything looks good.

30 Weeks, 3 Days - Crib and Changing Table

We received our crib and changing table yesterday from Kason's Nana (my step-mom) and Poppie (my dad). They are beautiful and we couldn't be more grateful. I have some pictures below of the process of putting them together. We had a great time trying to get it all together. I'm definitely glad Dad was here to help so I didn't have to.

Putting the changing table together.

Putting the crib together. It was a little more of a challenge and a little more amusing than the changing table.

Putting the bedding on and the finished product.

Kason is doing well. I'm pretty sure he is starting to get cramped in there. I can now feel his elbows and knees when they rub against me. I am now having trouble crossing my legs as my belly is now in the way. We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I will try to remember to update. My memory is awful now but I will do my best.

Cushman Baby Shower

We had such an amazing baby shower this weekend. The decorations were so cute and adorable. I don't have pictures of the decorations right now because I forgot my camera, but I will post some next weekend when mom comes up. I do have some pictures of the highlights below. First I want to say that we are so blessed to have so many friends and family. We received clothes, diapers, wipes, picture frames and so much more. We are so grateful for it all.

These first few pictures are of the amazing diaper motorcycle that mom (mammy) made for the shower.

Here is the bedding that we got from my parents, siblings, niece and nephew.

This is the beautiful quilt and diaper bag that Mawmaw (Kason's great grandma) made him. We love them.

We also received Kason's first bible and the first of many pairs of pj's that he will receive from his Meme (great grandma). So cute!

Our cousin Michelle got us our highchair which we love. I can't wait for it to be put together even though we can't use it for quite a while.

The rest of these photo's is just an overview of everything we received. This room was 100% cleaned out when we left for the weekend and now there is baby stuff everywhere. It's so exciting!

Week 28, 2 Days

Titus is moving right along on Kason's room. Below are some pictures of how it is turning out. He is now painting the ceiling so it should be don't today.

We also have our fabric picked out for curtains and to recover the cushions on the glider that Nanny gave us. Nana Michelle is making both of those for us. I feel like everything for the room is coming together and I can't wait to get it in there.

We have a Dr. Appt tomorrow morning so I will post again tomorrow to give an update on what the doctor says.

27 Weeks - Baby's Room

Only about 89 days now until we meet Kason. Give or take a couple of days. Not too much longer and we are busy busy getting ready for him.

We have started working on his room. Here is a picture of me cleaning it getting ready for Titus to start painting.

This is us trying to figure out which color to paint the walls.

The rest of the pictures below are of Titus working hard to get the room painted.

We still have to get the ceiling painted and the room trimmed but it is coming along. I'll post more pictures as it gets done.

Test Results

I received my test results today and just wanted to give everyone a quick update. My glucose test came back normal so everything is good there. My iron is a little low so I am going to take iron supplements. Thanks for all of the prayers and thoughts. Love you all!

26 Weeks, 3 Days - Dr. Appt

We had our Dr. Appt today and had the glucose test done. I don't have any results yet. The dr. said that I should have them by the end of the week. I'm pretty sure the glucola drink put me and Kason both on a sugar high. He kicked and went it from about 8:45 this morning until right before I came home from work at 5.

Kason's heartbeat was 144 today and everything looked and sounded good. I am up to 116 pounds now. I am definitely feeling it too. My feet swell if I am on them to much and I don't have many clothes to wear anymore.

We finally got Kason's room cleaned out on Saturday and got paint colors decided. We are painting the walls a beige color (still working on that one) and we are painting the ceiling a light blue. I think Titus is wanting to get the room painted next weekend. We also got the fabric to recover the glider that Titus' Nanny gave us and for the curtains.

We also started our birthing classes last Thursday night. It was interesting. We have them for the next 5 Thursdays and then we have a child care class on a Saturday at the end of October.

Week 25, 4 Days

Here is a new belly picture.

We went to a Dave Matthews Band concert this weekend in Dallas and had a lot of fun. Kason had fun too. I'm pretty sure he had a dance party in my belly. He kicked and flipped and had a grand ole time. It was pretty amusing.

We have a Dr's appt on Monday so continue to pray that the glucose test goes well. We are quickly coming up on the day that I can't travel any more and will have my appointments every two weeks. That really makes it feel real. We can't wait though.

24 Weeks, 4 Days

So I feel really bad that I haven't posted anything is about 2 weeks. I kept putting this one off thinking I would take a belly picture but let's face it, that's not happening this week. Titus and I have been really busy it seems like. We had a great time car shopping in Kansas City last weekend and this weekend we finally got registered for the baby. We are registered at Wal-mart and Target.

Kason was showing out for his daddy a couple of nights ago. He was kicking and going it like crazy when Titus was talking to him. It was the funniest thing. He is definitely an active little guy. He's kicking me while I'm sitting here typing this right now.

Our next appointment is September 20th and I do my glucose test at that appointment so please be praying that it goes well. After that appointment, we start our every two week appointments. I can't believe we are already to that point. We also start our childbirth classes on the 16th of Sept. and we have those every Thursday night for 6 weeks. We can't believe how close it is getting to him being here but we are so excited!

Week 22, 3 Days - Dr. Appt

Our Dr.'s appointment today went well. Dr. Ford said the ultrasound looked really good. Kason's heartbeat was 154 per minute. He is kicking like crazy right now while I am typing this. He's been going crazy today.

I have gained a total of 12lbs so far and now weigh 110. We have our next appointment September 20th and after that we start our appointments that will be every 2 weeks.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Very important, our delivery hospital has been changed. As of today, we will now be delivering at Northwest Medical in Bentonville. My dr.'s office has decided to solely due deliveries at Northwest as of August 1st and will no longer be doing deliveries at Mercy. I was looking forward to being at Mercy but Dr. Ford explained that Northwest has completely redone their labor and delivery unit and now has the most up to date technology in this area.

I believe we have decided on bedding. I have attached the picture below. We are excited about it because you can put anything in the room with it. We still haven't gotten the room completely cleaned out but we are working on it.

21 Weeks, 3 Days - Name

We have decided on a name - Kason Monroe Prater. Just in case someone isn't sure how to pronounce it, the name rhymes with Mason. We love the name and are so excited about it. Titus came up with the name. He was watching an old western show on Sunday 8/8 before church and one of the characters on it was Kason. It is completely random because 1st, Titus doesn't watch westerns (ever) and 2nd, we always watch Meet the Press before church. We didn't 100% decide to use the name until we were having dinner at Outback Steakhouse on Friday night 8/13. Monroe is a family name on Titus' side and it is Titus' middle name as well.

The baby is the size of a large banana this week. According to my scale, I have gained 7lbs so far. We feel him move on a regular basis now and his kicks are getting stronger. He really likes to wad up on my right side, right beside my belly button.

We are so excited about our little boy and can't wait to get his nursery decorated. We had a yard sale last weekend to get his room cleaned out and we got rid of a lot of stuff. Now we just have to get in there and get it cleaned up.

I am having a harder time bending over and picking things up off the floor. I am craving watermelon and love really any fruit right now. I also crave frosted flakes.

IT'S A BOY!!

We are going to have a baby boy. He is 13oz right now and his heartbeat was at 155 beats per minute. I have added photo's of the ultrasound below.

This is our little boy blowing bubbles and enjoying himself.

This is his face and cute little belly.

This is his arm. He kept it flexed to show his Daddy his muscles. He made sure we saw them no matter which way he was facing.

We have cute little feet which I can't wait to kiss on.

And yes, we are a boy!! He wanted to make sure we saw this too.

It was such an exciting day and we still can't believe we are having a little boy. I don't think either one of us slept much last night because we were so excited for today. Hope you enjoy the photo's.

Titus felt the Baby

FYI...Titus felt the baby kick for the first time on Sunday night. It was the cutest thing. He was so surprised that he could actually feel it. So cool.

Week 19, 2 Days

The baby this week is the size of a large mango, which is about 6" long. It is also a full pound in weight.

The kicks and movements are getting stronger and the baby was kicking like crazy this morning when we were singing at church. It's definitely an amazing feeling.

We find out next Monday, August 9th if we are having a boy or girl. Hopefully this week doesn't go by too slow. We are getting pretty anxious.

Baby woke me Up

The baby woke me up for the first time early this morning. I woke up at 5:30am this morning feeling a lot of pressure, kind of like I had to pee really bad. I put my hand on my lower belly like I have gotten into a habit of doing, to see if I can feel anything and right below my belly button was as hard as a rock and pooching out big time. It was the craziest thing ever. I didn't have to pee at all, it was the baby finding a comfy spot.

Also, last night, I had a glass of ice water and every time I would take a drink of it, the baby would kick me. I'm thinking either it tasted really good or it was way too cold. Titus still can't feel the kicks on the outside but they are getting definitely getting harder. He will be able to feel them soon.

Week 18, 3 Days - Dr Appt.

Our Dr. appointment went well today. The baby's heartbeat was at 155. I have gained 3lbs and now weigh a total of 103lbs. Above is the most recent belly pic for all to see.

We FINALLY scheduled out ultrasound appointment. We will find out if we are having a boy or girl in 2 weeks from today, August 9th at 9:45 in the morning. We are so excited.

I am trying to get the baby room cleared out. I have finally gotten the guest room cleaned out so we can start moving items from the baby room to the guest room. I think Titus is a little scared right now because I keep talking about selling everything in a yard sale or just getting rid of it. I even told him we have to go through the attic and he got a little nervous.
