Ultra Sound

We had our first ultrasound today. Neither one of us could believe how easy it was to see the baby. We are amazed and it is all so real now. The dr. said that the baby looks really good. It is about 1" right now and we are still looking at 12/24 as the due date. In the picture above, the head is on the right and the bottom is on the left. It looks like a little cashew. We are still amazed that we have a picture of our baby.

I hope you all enjoy it and I am so happy that we can share it with you.

9 Weeks, 2 Days

Our little embryo has now become a fetus this week. The baby is about the size of a medium green olive now. The muscles are starting to form and even though I can't feel it yet, baby is now moving it's arms and legs some.

This is a big week for us. We have our first ultra sound on Tuesday. We are so excited. I will try to get the baby picture posted on here on Tuesday for all to see so check back on Tuesday :)

8 Weeks, 1 Day

This week the baby is about the size of a large raspberry. This week, the baby's lips, nose, eyelids, legs and back are taking shape. The heart rate is beating about 150 times per minute. The baby is also making tiny movements this week, but they are too small to feel.

This is our last week in the 2nd month of pregnancy and we have been doing very well. We got a baby name book this week and have been throwing around names. We haven't decided on anything yet. It's a lot of pressure coming up with the perfect name.

Titus is really excited. He swears that we are having a boy but I guess we will find out for sure in a few months. We do have another doctors appointment in a little over a week. On May 25th we have our first ultrasound. I can't wait to hear the baby's heartbeat and see the little blob up on the screen. We are so excited.

7 Weeks, 1 Day

This week our baby is the size of a blueberry. My book says that it is now 10,000 times larger than it was at conception. That number is just crazy to me and I love to read it. Another cool number is the brain cells are being generated at 100 cells per minute. That really makes you think about how many brain cells we must have. Also, the baby's mouth, tongue, leg and arm buds are forming this week. It's so crazy how fast the baby grows.

Today is Saturday and it was amazing sleeping in this morning even though I am getting up earlier now than before I was pregnant. I guess we are just going to work around the house. Luckily I don't have to clean the bathroom anymore and I have a wonderful husband who will do that for me.

Happy Mother's Day tomorrow to our Mom's and Grandma's. We love you very much!

6 Weeks 4 Days - Dr. Appointment

I had a Dr.'s appointment today and it went well. I just spoke with the prenatal nurse and got a big list of do's and don'ts while pregnant. I also got my blood drawn. I got a goody bag full of magazines and a pregnancy planner and some samples. I'm excited to go through it more.

We have an appointment on May 25th to get our first ultrasound. Titus and I are both really excited about that one. Maybe then we can post our first baby picture.

6 Weeks, 1 Day - Telling Mom and Darren

We finally told Mom and Darren today that we are pregnant. When we got here, I didn't think we would ever get Mom and Darren in the same room. When Mom was standing in eye sight of Darren, I said "I have a book to show you". I handed her What to Expect when Your Expecting. She just stared at it for a minute and then said "Are you really?" She was so excited that she yelled to Darren, "We're going to be grandparents again". Darren got a really big grin on his face. It was so exciting. She has said all day "I just can't believe it". She immediately called Meme and I'm sure all of Cushman knows by now.

We finally told all siblings and grandparents today too. We have also told some friends. I'm so glad everybody knows now. That was so hard to keep a secret.

I did ok on the drive to Cushman this morning. I got really quessy a couple of times and didn't think I would make it. I stopped and grabbed some hard candy to suck on and it helped a lot. It took a while to get here because I had to stop and pee about 4 times. We made it and all is well. We are all so excited!!!
