6 Weeks - Telling Dad and Michelle

Tonight we went to dinner with Dad and Michelle to tell them about the baby. They hadn't seen our pictures from Mexico yet so we made a sign and put it in the album. The sign said "We're Having A Baby, December 2010". I put it behind the last page of pictures so when you turned the page to see if there were more pictures, it was there. They were so excited. We were really excited to tell them.

Tomorrow we go to Mom's to tell her and Darren. I can't wait. I have been feeling pretty good. I feel nauseas today. I really thought I was going to get sick first on the way to dinner and then again on the way home from dinner. It seems to be fine though as long as I keep water with me. I have also been really tired the last few days. I can't wait to tell Mom and the rest of the family tomorrow. I know Titus will be glad to finally tell Mitch and Clint. It's all so exciting.

5 Weeks, 2 Days Telling Butch and Yevon

We just got back from Titus' parents house and we told them about the baby. I made a chocolate cake with fluffy white icing and then wrote on it in yellow icing "Baby Prater, December 2010". It was hard to keep Butch out of it long enough to show it to them. Butch opened the lid first and got a big grin on his face. He then placed the lid back on to let Yevon open it. When she opened it, her mouth just dropped. She turned to us and was already crying. It was so awesome to see their reactions. It was a great lunch and a great visit with them.

I can't wait to tell my parents this weekend. It has been so hard not to say something over the phone. We will tell my Dad and Michelle on Friday night at dinner and my Mom and Darren on Saturday. We are so excited. I'm ready for everyone to know already.

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!

That's right, we are officially pregnant. I just had a pregnancy confirmation appointment with my doctor. It is so surreal. I thought it would take a lot longer than this to get pregnant.

I decided to start a blog for all of the family and friends that we don't get to see everyday or on a regular basis. Especially my mom who I only get to see once every couple of months. This blog will keep everyone up to date on how me and the baby are doing....Titus too. I will try to post plenty of pictures as we go along as well.

Anyway, back to the baby. I went off of birth control back in February right before we went to Mexico. We both thought it would take a lot longer than a month to get pregnant.....guess not. I have been feeling pretty good. I definitely feel different than I usually do. I have been queasy and really tired.

This is the first post but no one will read it until next week sometime. We haven't told anyone yet so we are very excited for everyone to know. We've been trying to come up with fun ways to tell everyone and I think we have some good ones. We'll let you know how it goes.
