We have started our second trimester and we are so very excited. The baby is the size of a lemon this week and the body is straightening a little more. The neck is getting longer as well. The baby has eyebrows now and it is starting to get hair on the head.
It is all so exciting but we are just so anxious to find out the sex. We have a little while longer to wait though. We won't find out until the end of August. Our next appointment is July 20th where we will hear the heartbeat again.
I did forget to let everyone know that at the last appointment I did gain 2 pounds and now officially weigh 100 pounds.

13 Weeks, 4 Days - Dr. Appt
This is our first belly picture at 13 weeks.
We had our Dr. Appt today. Everything looks really good. We heard the heartbeat and it was magical. It was 165 beats per minute. It was a really quick appointment. We have our next appt on July 20th. We will find out the sex in August.
We also got the fun task of speaking with the financial counselor on everything that the insurance will pay and what we will pay. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
We start the second trimester on Friday and I am excited. I can't believe it is already here.

12 Weeks, 2 Days
The baby has more than doubled in size in the past 3 weeks, weighing in now at 1/2 ounce and measuring about 2 1/2 inches. It is about the size of a large plum right now. Most of the working systems are fully formed, but there is still plenty of maturing to do. The digestive system is beginning to practice contractions so the baby will be able to eat and the bone marrow is making white blood cells.
Titus and I went to Branson this past weekend with some family and we walked all day on Saturday at Silver Dollar City. I noticed more changes this weekend than I have being here at home. We walked across a swinging bridge that really made me dizzy and we went through a fun house that really made me dizzy. I woke up this morning and my calves were really sore and they have progressively gotten more sore as the day has gone on. I read that apparently your calves and sometimes your legs can get really sore. I had never heard this before so it came as kind of a shock.
Titus and I have enjoyed going through the motions of this pregnancy so far and learning everything that comes with it. Titus has been the greatest and I know he will continue to be amazing.

11 Weeks, 2 Days
We have made it to our 11th weeks. Just 2 more to go in the 1st trimester. Things are going pretty good. I am still nauseous and my face is broken out pretty badly. My memory has gotten bad too. Things I would normally remember, I can't remember for the life of me. It's really weird. I'm having trouble fitting into my clothes. I always thought it would be exciting to watch your body change when you are pregnant but I realized this week, it's actually kinda hard. I guess the best way to describe it is great but weird.
Now about baby Cashew....The baby is just over 2 inches long now and weighs about 1/3 of an ounce. The body is straightening out and the torso is lengthening. Hair follicles are forming and fingernails and toenails are beginning to develop. The finger and toes are no longer webbed and the hands and feet are now in front of the body. The ears are nearly in their final shape and location. There are open nasal passages on the tip of the nose, a tongue and palate in the mouth.
It's really crazy everything that happens each week. Just so everyone knows, I get the information on what is happening with the baby out of my "What to Expect When You are Expecting" book. It's really exciting keeping up with the growth from week to week. Also, our next doctor's appointment is on June 22nd. Hopefully we will hear the heart beat at that appointment but who knows.
